Announcing Infracost Support

Introduction

Infracost support has arrived! Take the guesswork out of your monthly bill.

No setup required

You don’t need to do anything to get started.

Infracost is enabled by default for all customers.

No setup necessary.

If you would like to use your Infracost account, all you need do is create a GitHub Secret called INFRACOST_API_KEY with your API key.

You can specify your currency in the repository configuration file:

cost_estimation:
  currency: EUR

How it works

When running a terraform plan operation using Terrateam, we take the plan output and feed it to the infracost cli. Plan data is passed to the Infracost Cloud Pricing API service where cost breakdown is calculated.

• No cloud credentials or secrets are sent to the Infracost Cloud Pricing API
• Infracost does not make any changes to your Terraform state or cloud resources

Understanding cloud spend

Keeping track of cloud billing can be tricky. There are many factors that influence spend like egress, AZ to AZ traffic, instance type, etc. This is just the tip of the iceberg.

Infracost makes it trivial to gain a better understanding of what your potential spend will be.
